Always wear protective gloves when handling chemicals. Please note that the pump nozzle in the package is intended only for applying 42DEGREASE.

 42DEGREASE, cleaning the chains in place:

Remove the transport cap from the 42DEGREASE bottle and screw the pump nozzle that came with the package onto the bottle. Spray 42DEGREASE onto the cassette, sprockets, derailleurs, and chains. Wait about 10 minutes and wipe off the loose dirt and grease with a microfiber cloth. Use a brush as needed for spreading and cleaning. 42DEGREASE is also suitable for use with chain cleaner tool; follow the manufacturer instructions. Remove any residue by rinsing with warm water and let dry. You can speed up drying with compressed air.

42DEGREASE, cleaning the chains off the bike:

Remove the chains, wipe off loose dirt and grease with a cloth moistened with 42DEGREASE, and place the chains in a solvent-resistant cup. Add enough 42DEGREASE to cover the chains and let them soak for about 10 minutes. Enhance the effect by brushing the chains during soaking. Remove the chains from the cup, drain the excess cleaner back into the cup, and dry the chains with a cloth. Tip: Instead of a cup, you can use the 42SHIELD product bag as a container! 42DEGREASE is also suitable for use with ultrasonic cleaners. The treatment time depends on the dirtiness and the cleaner’s efficiency. Do not use the heating function! Place the chains in a bag and add enough 42DEGREASE to cover them. Put the bag in an ultrasonic cleaner filled with water and start the cleaner. Alternatively, you can put 42DEGREASE directly into the ultrasonic cleaner’s container with the chains. Follow the cleaner’s instructions for timing and usage. Remove any residue by rinsing with warm water and let dry. You can speed up drying with compressed air.

42SHIELD, first chain lubrication:

Install the removed chains back in place. When processing in a warm climate (above 23°C), place the bottle for 10 minutes at a temperature below 20°C before installation. Shake the 42SHIELD bottle vigorously for a moment. Note that the cap has a child lock, which operates by pressing and turning the cap simultaneously. Lubricate the parts by gently squeezing the bottle. For the first application, apply generously but without dripping. The precision nozzle makes it easy to apply 42SHIELD to each chain roller and link contact surfaces. Also apply to the sprockets and derailleur lubrication points. Use the brush included in the package to spread and even out the application on the cassette. For the best protection, use the brush also on the chain after lubrication. 42SHIELD does not attract dirt nor absorb water when dry, so do not wipe off the excess unnecessarily. Run through the gears back and forth a few times. The drying time after the first treatment is 4–6 hours at 20°C.

42SHIELD, re-lubrication:

For re-lubrication, keep the bottle warm for 10 minutes (max 25°C) to make the liquid more fluid. Wash off sand, dirt, and dust from the chains and sprockets with water and let dry. You can speed up drying with compressed air. During re-lubrication, apply a small amount of 42SHIELD to the chain rollers, link contact surfaces, and sprockets. Use the brush to spread and even out the application if necessary. Run through the gears back and forth a few times. Allow to dry for about 1 hour.

42SHIELD, coating:

Do not apply to brake surfaces. Always test the product’s suitability on a small, inconspicuous area first. Shake the 42SHIELD bottle vigorously for a moment. Note that the cap has a child lock, which operates by pressing and turning the cap simultaneously. Start by applying 42SHIELD to the soft side of the application sponge included in the package. Use the sponge to apply 42SHIELD evenly to the frame, front fork, helmet, etc. Apply and spread more as needed. Wait until the surface has dried and appears matte. Wipe off the residues from the surface with the microfiber cloth included in the package or a similar cloth. When no residues are visible, turn the cloth to a clean side and polish the treated area. The coating is ready for use after two hours (20°C), and it reaches its final properties in about a day. Tip: You can also use the product bag for storing 42SHIELD products if you are not using it for chain cleaning!
